Myles O’Neal – has done a remix of WAR’s ‘The Cisco Kid’

The cultural impact of the band WAR cannot be overstated. For over a half century WAR have been making legendary albums that connect deeply to the souls of music fans. Their records ‘Spill The Wine’‘Low Rider’and ‘Why Can’t We Be Friends’ are ubiquitous.  In 1973, the critically acclaimed album, The World is a Ghetto was named Album of the Year by Billboardand its second single, ‘The Cisco Kid’, reached No.2 on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts. 
 
They have seamlessly fused the genres of Funk, Soul, Jazz, Latin music and Rock – while simultaneously building one of the most diverse fan bases throughout the globe. Their live shows consist of fans from all different backgrounds, races and religions united under the positive energy of the music. 
 
Myles O’Neal is leading the next wave of DJs & Producers that have blasted onto the music scene. He bridges the gap between eras with his unique ability to blend the genres of Tech-House, R&B, Rap, Funk, Soul and Electronic Dance Music.  
 
‘The Cisco Kid – Myles O’Neal Remix’ is an infectious groove with WAR’s iconic percussion and brass instruments that O’Neal masterfully recreates into a thumping baseline with huge crescendos and deep drops.

2025 sees WAR celebrate their 55th anniversary, a landmark year which will see the band receive their star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame while celebrating their iconic catalogue with special releases including the Eric Burdon & WAR – The Complete CD Collection out March 7th, followed by a Why Can’t We Be Friends? (50th Anniversary Collector’s Edition) Record Store Day exclusive 3LP vinyl out April 12th.
 
The band will also be performing at UK summer festivals in July including Love Supreme and a headline set at the Mostly Jazz, Funk & Soul Festival 2025.
