“Last night seen the RTÉ Choice Music Prize winner, Monchrief adorn the stage of the Olympia. But just before we were picked up and flown around in his magical voice, we were greeted with Grace Gachot.
I won’t lie though, before she came out on stage, her synth/keyboard duo of a backing band came on stage first, and I got excited that we would be blessed with some Soft Cell type tunage lol. Non the less, Grace put on a beautiful performance of break ups and power ballads with an incredibly strong voice. Strong enough that I have no doubt she could have thrown the mic away and still give us a blasting performance.
Moncrieff came storming onto stage with an incredible burst of energy. My shutter could barely keep up. Rock star vibez galore coming from this guy. Dare I say, the Robbie Williams of Ireland? Too far? Well only time will tell I suppose.
You could tell the crowd was dreaming of this night. From just looking at the front row, with banners waving and the crowd screaming, the handsome Moncrieff was loving every minute of it. He said so himself that it was a dream of his to play the Olympia, and it was certainly a night the entire venue will be glad they went. “
