Melanie C delivered a knockout performance at Dublin’s 3Olympia Theatre on Sunday night, opening her World Tour in spectacular style with a show packed full of energy, nostalgia and crowd-pleasing anthems.
Taking to the stage dressed as a boxer, Sporty Spice wasted no time making a statement, opening with Undefeated Champion. It was a fitting introduction to an artist who has continually reinvented herself throughout her career while remaining a firm fan favourite.
From that opening bell, it was hit after hit, with the Dublin crowd responding enthusiastically as Melanie showcased her impressive catalogue of solo material. Her powerful vocals, infectious energy and commanding stage presence ensured the momentum never dipped, keeping the audience firmly in her corner throughout the evening.
The set featured 20 songs in total, offering a generous mix of Melanie’s solo work alongside a few welcome Spice Girls covers. These nostalgic moments proved particularly popular, transporting the audience back to the era that first made her a global superstar. Rather than simply relying on past glories, however, Melanie demonstrated exactly why she remains a compelling live performer in her own right.
Support act Sur Back warmed up the audience ahead of the main event, setting the stage for an evening of live music and celebration.
As opening nights go, this was a confident start to the tour. Melanie C brought the hits, the attitude and the connection with her fans, delivering a performance that felt both celebratory and full of purpose.
Dublin was certainly a winning first round for Sporty Spice, and if this opening night is anything to go by, the Melanie C World Tour promises plenty more knockout moments ahead.
