Japanese superstars MAN WITH A MISSION have released the video for their new single ‘Against the Kings and Gods’ out now via Sony Music Japan/Century Media.
The video comes as the half man, half wolf rock collective start their HOWLING ACROSS THE WORLD tour tomorrow (Oct 2nd) at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire. The following day they will play at Manchester O2 Ritz and then perform at Birmingham XOYO on October 5th. The tour will then hit Europe for 10 dates before running throughout Asia from November. The new single ‘Against the Kings and Gods’ is a powerful track which finds MAN WITH A MISSION embarking down a darker sonic path as bold metal riffs join dark biting verses among dramatic choruses and breakdowns. The new video, directed by Kensuke Endo with illustration from Daisuke Yamamoto, captures this heavy uprising with dark mythical animation which sees wolves howl as a fallen angel breaks free from the impending flames of hell.
Regarding the single songwriter, guitarist, vocalist and rapper Jean-Ken Johnny says, “What sparked this song was the desire to create something, both in sound and in lyrics, that we had never really attempted before, either as a band or personally.
In shaping a dark, heavy, and majestic track, I chose mythology as the motif, envisioning the image of a human facing supernatural beings.
Even in the real world, we all experience days of struggling against overwhelming powers and the impermanence of life. We hope that those who listen to this song can find themselves within its story-like world, and that it awakens a spirit and strength that refuse to yield to anything or anyone. We hope you enjoy ‘Against the Kings and Gods’.”
Fans can expect to hear ‘Against the Kings and Gods’ on the HOWLING ACROSS THE WORLD tour as well as new songs from the recently released XV EP which was released this year to commemorate the 15th anniversary of MAN WITH A MISSION.
