Luna Kills – A Promising Path Within the Modern Metal Scene

The Finnish band Luna Kills is attracting attention with their authentic blend of alternative nu-metal and electronic elements. We had the opportunity to listen to their debut album, Deathmatch, which will be released on the 4th of April 2025.

Deathmatch is an immersive experience, delivering a fresh and unique sound that feels complete and impactful. The songs are truly catchy, blending powerful screams with clean vocals from Lotta Ruutiainen. The heavy riffs are breathtaking, layered with electronic textures that creates an extreme and dark atmosphere.

One remarkable aspect of Deathmatch is a well balanced structure, which ensures it captures the listener from the first track to the last. The album starts with a powerful track that immediately grabs all the attention immersing you to every track. As the album progresses, a noticeable, energetic, and captivating vibe builds, creating a powerful atmosphere. It is also filled with an emotional journey as the band mentioned they have reflective and emotional lyrics, giving us a dynamic feel. The band explores themes of mental health and personal struggles in a powerful way, adding depth to the album.

Overall, Deathmatch doesn’t look like an album — it feels like a journey, one that invites listeners to reflect on their own struggles while offering an escape and strength to keep going.

Luna Kills seems set for a bright future. It will be exciting to watch how they evolve throughout their career and continue to mature their sound as musicians. They’re definitely on a promising path within the modern metal scene.

Deathmatch scores its self an 8.5.out of 10

Rating: 8.5 out of 10.
