Lu.Ci – defies the More Money, More Power attitude with the new single ”Chains”

Lu.Ci is a rare artist who loves what she does so much that it spreads an infectious charm to those who discover her. That motivating positivity is boosted by her fiercely determined DIY approach to promotion, as her larger-than-life personality makes a big impact on socials. And it’s paying off, with two #1 hits on the iTunes Singer-Songwriter Chart as well as airplay from Radio 1Capital FMAmazing Radio and Heart. Now Lu.Ci’s rise persists with the new single ‘Chains’, which immediately fired to #2 on the iTunes Singer-Songwriter Chart from its pre-orders alone.

Lu.Ci’s strident vocal class is her standout talent and that’s particularly irresistible in ‘Chains’ as she unites power, poise and personality with a voice that just can’t be denied. The music, however, is a departure from what we’ve heard from her before: a pulsating electro-pop banger with house and funk influences, while its spoken word breakdown provides a dynamic contrast that really allows its final hook to go stratospheric.

Lu.Ci says, “Money makes the world go round, but how are you gonna spend your money if the earth dies? It’s time to put our priorities straight before it’s too late. As a collective, we have forgotten what’s important, and we have put money and power first over life. Choices are being taken away from people, others are struggling to get by and species are dying out. There’s enough money in the world that all of these issues can be irradiated if only we all worked together.

As a member of the neurodiverse family, I like to ensure that my music has elements that will calm anxiety, stress and quiet the mind. I really feel that this track has succeeded in this aspect.”

Having written the song during a burst of inspiration, Lu.Ci moved quickly to record the track. She co-produced ‘Chains’ with her regular collaborator Dan Clark (Liam PayneSigrid).
