Lake Street Dive / Alisa Amador – live at Vicar Street Dublin 29.01.25

On a chilly evening in the capital, American soul band Lake Street Dive took to the stage at a packed Vicar Street. The venue, with its intimate yet high-energy vibe was the perfect setting for the band’s sound.

The setlist was a perfect mix of fan favorites and newer material, with tracks like “Good Kisser” and “Hypotheticals” sparking great sing-alongs. What stood out most was the sheer versatility of the group. They effortlessly traversed genres, mixing R&B grooves with pop melodies, and pulled in elements of folk and funk too – all while maintaining an authenticity that felt fresh and exciting. The most notable moments from the set included the band’s dancefloor-soul hit “Dance With a Stranger”, when lead singer Rachel Price left the stage to be amongst the audience, and a rousing rendition of Shania Twain’s “You’re Still The One”.

Support on the night was from 2022 Tiny Desk Concert contest winner, Alisa Amador… who is fresh off the back of releasing her stunning debut album, Multitudes.
