Paris-based Kiss Facility return today with a brand-new single “Flesh Mix”, out now via ambient tweets. Comprised of Emirati-Egyptian singer and songwriter Mayah Alkhateri and producer Salvador Navarrete (aka Sega Bodega), the band have released a string of lauded singles and an EP over the last two years, but “Flesh Mix” is the first track to be drawn from the duo’s forthcoming debut album, with further details to be announced soon.
Speaking on the release, the duo say “It captures raw emotions and sexual desires (hence the name Flesh Mix) obsession and devotion. Lyrics are drawn from Mayah’s imaginations as a story exploring cravings and control.” Each song in the album is a love story that’s told in different ways.
Kiss Facility blends influences from shoegaze and indie rock with cultural Arabic influences of Mayah’s heritage in order to subvert and challenge ideas about identity, creativity and freedom.
Since releasing their debut EP ‘esoteric’ in 2023, Kiss Facility have been featured on the cover of Dazed MENA, have played Pitchfork Festival Paris and had their 2024 single “plasma” sampled by Fred Again.. And Skepta’s “21 Years”, out last week. Stay tuned for more news on the debut album by Kiss Facility soon.
