At The Ambassador Theatre on 21 May 2026, Kiefer Sutherland proved that his musical career is far more than a side project. Playing to a near soldout seated crowd as part of his Love Will Bring You Home tour, Sutherland delivered a confident, heartfelt set that balanced rugged Americana with the easy charm that has made him such an enduring screen presence.
Opening the night was Kerry singer-songwriter Colin Andrew, whose half hour support slot quickly won over the audience. Andrew’s folk leaning songs carried warmth and sincerity, but it was his between song banter that truly lit up the room. At times, the set felt closer to a comedy show, with the Kerryman effortlessly tossing out jokes and stories that had the audience laughing as much as applauding. It was an ideal opener, relaxed, engaging and distinctly Irish.
Sutherland took to the stage to loud applause and immediately settled into the stripped back country-rock sound that defines his live shows. Backed by a tight and polished band, he played for a full ninety minutes, mixing original material old and new with crowd pleasing covers and tales. The night’s first genuine surprise came early when, just two songs in, the band launched into a rendition of ”Only Happy When It Rains” by Garbage. Reimagined through a smoky Americana lens, it was both unexpected and brilliantly executed.
