Ex Public Image bass player / music producer, Jah Wobble brought the Invader of the Heart to Whelans of Dublin for a night of dub and that dub being Public Images! Metal Box album rebuilt in dub.
On the night the choice was no support and the sold out crowd waited patiently from doors opening at 8pm till it was time for the band to take to that stage which was 9pm.
When the hour struck out walked the band and Jah welcomed everyone and warned that the first few songs he might look to have a pretty stern face, after which he sat down and the band got going and man right from the start it was a sound scape of bliss and bass, one couldn’t help but get transported to some far off universe as the sounds of space rock fill the venue.
After the first few songs he was on his feet and and one point putting the bass aside and started banging away on snare drums and cowbells, you might say cowbells (as not everyone’s favourite) but its works as Jah beats away frantically.
The set-list was made up of as it said on the tin ”Metal Box” tracks and more (see list below)
