ABOUT THE TRACK
Following the release of ‘Wow Wow Wow’, Tallaght singer-songwriter Luke Clerkin will release his new single ‘Supernova’ on July 26th. ‘Supernova’ is the second single from Clerkin’s debut album ‘Orpheus’ which will be released in October. It was produced by a frequent collaborator and close friend of Luke, Gavin Doyle, between Gavin’s home studio in Clondalkin and Block C Studios in Ballymount. It was mixed and mastered by Martin Quinn (Heroes In Hiding, Aine Cahill) in Jam Studios in Kells.
“This is my first proper full band release in over 4 years, giving a sample of where my music can go with that added element. The response to ‘Wow Wow Wow’ has been beautiful, and I think this next single will really build on that momentum. Recording in Block C was also a very full circle moment for me because it’s the studio where I recorded the first song I ever released over 10 years ago.”
Luke Clerkin
Talking about the song itself, Luke said “This entire album depicts my journey from baring my soul to someone who didn’t reciprocate the strong feelings that I had for them. It then goes on to me rediscovering myself and seeking love again, ultimately finding it in an unexpected place. This particular song delves into the aftermath of that heartfelt conversation and its impact on the friendship that we had”.
