Irish composer Lōwli – releases the new single ‘What’s it all for?

Irish composer and songwriter Lōwli continues to mesmerise with the release of brooding new single What’s it all for?, out now via Veta Records. This release is a hauntingly beautiful slice of dark-pop exploring ideas such as meaning, mortality and acceptance.

‘”Echoing the overall mood of the album, an inner monologue questions purpose and direction in life. It then becomes clear that the answer is to persist with the journey and trust in oneself completely. I wanted this song to feel light and a little whimsical, like a hazy day-dream or vision. When writing it, I knew it would be the final track on the album, concluding the record in an ambiguous and somewhat optimistic way.”

LISTEN NOW

This is the fourth release taken from Lōwli’s debut album Window In The Woods out on 24th October 2025. An introspective cycle, the album depicts a journey of processing a difficult experience within your own mind and what this can feel like. A balance of dark and light is present throughout the music, implying that these cycles are continuous and unpredictable throughout our lives. Lōwli’s hypnotic vocal soars effortlessly over tracks such as Undone and Ground Above You, whilst elegant piano tones and solemn strings are at the forefront on instrumental tracks such as Lament and Islands Are Falling.

“This album also acts like an internal response to the outside world. Themes of identity, mortality and detachment are balanced with themes of acceptance, belonging and connection. The music evokes a contemplative and otherworldly mood, alongside dark and ominous elements. I hope the subjectiveness of these themes allows the listener to interpret this music in their own individual way.”
