Irish band Light Grey – to release their electronic-pop-punk album ‘NIGHTM@RES’

Mixing pop-punk energy with hyperpop sensibilities and a 2000’s MySpace swagger, Light Grey is a production duo out of Galway, Ireland. Formed by Ciaran Nevin and Mikey Connolly, Light Grey’s sound is anything but light.

Their upcoming album, ‘NIGHTM@RES’ (co-produced by Luke Bovill of Happydaze Ex. Woes), showcases their growth, experimenting with electronic sounds while staying true to their pop-punk roots. The semi autobiographical concept heavy record follows a protagonist through the tribulations of a series of interconnected dreams, crescendoing from a dream-like state deeper into nightmarish panic.

Having received praise from taste makers of the alternative music world such as Gemma Bradley and Alyx Holcombe on singles such as ‘Famous’ and ‘Losing Sleep’, Light Grey have set a high bar for the greatly anticipated full length.

Powered by Ciaran Nevin and Mikey Connolly, Light Grey has quickly entrenched themselves within the captivating domain of the current pop-rock landscape while expertly drawing on elements of emo, hip hop, and electronic music to create an effervescent energy all their own.

Since the bands formation in 2017, they have already collaborated with members of notable bands like WSTR, House Parties and Smrtdeath, gained significant praise from members of genre heavyweights like State Champs and The Wonder Years, and welcomed critical acclaim for their 2022 breakthrough single ‘Loser’.

Pushing forward into 2024 with singles such as ‘Famous’, ‘Insomnia’, and ‘Losing Sleep’ the band flaunts their ability to go catchier, heavier and build intrigue for an imminent wave of pop punk with atypical influences.

‘NIGHTM@RES’ is out on 30th August via Never Meant Records.
