The Guzzlers story all started on board a ferry, where brothers Cian and Tom O’Dowd were employed playing Irish songs to entertain the customers. One particularly drunken trip which led to having too many pints resulted in the brothers getting fired and thus inspired their debut single “20 Pints To Cherbourg”.
In the summer of 2025 the brothers packed up and left their home of Limerick for Liverpool, armed with their guitars and banjo and a raft of original songs. Busking outside notable Irish bars in the city led to invitations to perform inside, word got around and soon The Guzzlers were gracing stages of the key music venues in town; The Jacaranda, The Cavern Club and notably The Philharmonic. Reputation grew and the band found themselves with a residency at Anfield, invited to play for the arriving fans at every Liverpool FC home game.

In November 2025 the band entered the studio with producer Jon Withnall, known for his work with the likes of Coldplay, Rihanna and Echo and the Bunnymen to record their debut album which will be released later this year.
2026 so far has seen the duo supporting ‘The Highstool Prophets’ at the 02 Academy Liverpool, ispini na heireann at the 100 Club London and releasing their first 2 singles. The brothers are now aiming for world domination with a guitar in hand and a pint in the other.
