Emerging onto the scene in 2020, rising indie pop singer songwriter Jamie Wooding has released a plethora of singles receiving highly acclaimed support from Radio X and BBC Introducing Merseyside & Lancashire, as well as press support from the likes of CLASH, CLOUT and EARMILK Magazine. With a highly energetic vibe, anthemic chorus and relatable lyricism, in either a 3 piece or even solo with a loop pedal, Jamie could be Liverpool’s answer to Sam Fender. Forming his backing band during the middle of 2023 has broadened the sound Jamie is capable of and given a fresh added approach to the songs. Fresh off the back of his recent tour supports in 2022/23 with UK No.1 band ‘The Lottery Winners’ and ‘Andrew Cushin’, Jamie is a budding future artist not to be missed.
Strategising his year in between a string of intimate national dates spanning February/March, Jamie is now ready to release his first single of 2024 ‘So Close’. In his own words, Jamie states:
“So Close is a song written about a personal experience I went through in 2021. It’s a situation everyone can relate to, and I feel there’s been a stigma for years that men can’t show their feelings, but its a normal thing to do to show emotion. I wanted the song to have a driving and upbeat feel to encapsulate the idea that no matter how bad the situation is, there’s better times ahead.
The Lyric “Another teardrop from your eyes, nostalgic moments that just slowly pass us by” is a very poignant lyric for me, it’s the little moments and memories that resurface at any given moment and make it tough to get through a situation like that, even though they’re fond memories.”
