Indie artist DAWKS is all set to release emphatic new single ‘Celebrate (Things Could Be Worse) next week

Hartlepool-based indie artist DAWKS announces the release of his exciting new single, “Celebrate (Things Could Be Worse)” set to release on Friday , 19th September.

Celebrate (Things Could Be Worse) showcases DAWKS’ knack for crafting catchy tunes that resonate with genuine emotion. The production, helmed by Danny Blackburn of Adult DVD, adds a radio ready clarity with no compromises on punch and feel, resulting in a sound that feels both fresh and familiar.  

Following a period of intense creativity, “Arc De Triomphe”(released July 2025), marked a step away from his original low-fi indie sound, announcing a bigger and bolder sonic landscape backed by his newly formed band. The track garnered support from the likes of Charlie Ashcroft (Amazing Radio) and Shakk (BBC Introducing North East)Celebrate (Things Could Be Worse) builds on this steady foundation, cementing DAWKS as one of the most exciting indie rock artists currently spearheading the North East indie music scene.

Emerging from a solitary home recording project, DAWKS has organically evolved into a vibrant and compelling musical force. Drawing inspiration from the contemporary brilliance of artists like Beabadoobe and DMA’s, while also paying homage to the iconic sounds of rock titans such as Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins, and the legendary Tom Petty,DAWKS has carved out a distinctive sonic identity. His captivating soundscapes have garnered attention from tastemakers, notably earning airplay on BBC Radio 6 Music courtesy of the esteemed Steve Lamacq.

Beyond the studio, DAWKS and his accomplished band have ignited stages across the UK, sharing bills with a stellar lineup of established acts including Kaiser Chiefs, Feeder, Maximo Park, and The Mysterines. These live experiences have honed his performance prowess and solidified their reputation as an engaging and must-see live act.
