MCD is proud to announce the return of Brooklyn punk rock cornerstones I Am The Avalanche for a headline show at The Grand Social, Dublin on July 9th, 2026. Twenty-two years into their storied career, I Am The Avalanche are creating the most potent and visceral music of their lives. The Horror Show is a record forged in the fire of unimaginable loss and the refusal to stand still. Written largely following the sudden passing of frontman Vinnie Caruana’s best friend, the album is a masterclass in resilience, exploring the space where grief and celebration coexist.
Experiencing ultimate loss will change you on a cellular level,” says frontman Vinnie Caruana. “About 75% of the lyrics were written after my best friend passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. You find courage you didn’t know you had—that was his last gift to me.”
Produced, engineered, and mixed by the band’s drummer Brett Romnes at Barbershop Studios in New Jersey, the new record marks a creative evolution for the band. Moving beyond their reputation for blistering two-minute punk anthems, the band has embraced a more expansive and textural sound. From the raw defiance of “Laughing and Bleeding” to the life-affirming radiance of “I’m Not Dead…,” the setlist promises to be a powerful journey through the band’s two-decade legacy and their bold new chapter.
For Caruana, returning to the stage in Dublin is a vital part of the healing process. “My only hope is that performing these songs on stage will repair the part of my soul that broke during the writing process,” he admits. “This record can become a lifelong companion for those who let it in.”
Fans can expect an evening of high-energy, heart-on-sleeve punk rock from a band operating at the absolute peak of their powers.
