Ahead of the release of her debut album NATURE IS HEALINGout this Friday via horsegiirL/RCA Records, the world’s first half-horse, half-human singer-songwriter, DJ, and producer horsegiirL shares a new song “that’s my beach!,” which premiered as BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record in the World last night. The track drops alongside a surreal, playful music video co-directed by horsegiirL, Enantios Dromos, and Rosario Bohio. The visual beach fever dream stems from horsegiirL’s own sun-drenched day on a Brazilian beach, where she allegedly crossed paths with a breathtaking creature: half-woman, half-seahorse.
Directors Enantios Dromos and Rosario Bohio share a deep bond with horsegiirL, making this vibrant collaboration a true homecoming, blending rural childhood nostalgia with a splash of aquatic romance, which they elaborate on here:
“We met Stella when she was first born, long before she even learned how to trot, so directing ‘that’s my beach!’ years later, in Brasil felt very full circle. Seeing how far her trot has taken her makes us incredibly proud. As horse lovers raised around horses in small villages — me (Enantios) in Brasil and Rosario in the Dominican Republic — we’re always excited to be taken for a ride by Stella around the world. There’s probably no better place than Brasil for a beach love story. Something in the Brazilian waters made earth and sea fall for each other — when Stella and Seahorse met, it was lesbian love at first sight. No one could tell them they were horses from different realms.”
NATURE IS HEALING is more than an album—it’s an invitation to a new way of thinking. A collection of mantras designed to open our minds, embrace the beauty of the natural world, and remind us that humans are intrinsically connected to the Earth through shared rhythms and frequencies. To help illuminate this sonic universe, horsegiirL enlisted some of electronic music’s most innovative producers, including Nomak (Charli xcx), Casey MQ (Oklou), Margo XS (Kim Petras, Zara Larsson), Elof Loelv (Icona Pop), FREE Jimi (Dorian Electra), Suena (Apache 207), A.G. Cook, as well as her trusted close collaborator Luvhunter. Throughout the 15-track-album, samples of birds, insects, mammals, and reptilians — alongside percussion from around the globe, accordions, and pan flutes — remind human listeners of their deep interconnectedness with all living beings on Earth.
Inviting her devoted followers — affectionately known as Farmies — into the next phase of collective communion and awakening, horsegiirL recently announced the NATURE IS HEALING Tour, her vision of dance music as a force for true connection rather than empty escapism. This September, horesgiirL will kick off her world tour, spreading her good word around the globe with headline dates and festival performances. The tour will see her bring her exhilarating, all-welcome live show to cities across North America she has yet to perform in — including Denver, Philadelphia, and Atlanta — alongside major headline returns to New York, Toronto, and Los Angeles, where she will also support Robyn at her sold-out Kia Forum date. horsegiirL will have support from Ren G, DJ_Dave, and Dylan Brady on select dates. The run continues into Europe with performances in Berlin, Paris, London, and more. This year, she will also appear on major stages at Electric Love, Dour Festival, Osheaga, and Lollapalooza.
