HAVVK – share new single ‘Bad Look’ and announce fourth album ‘Time Will Kill’

Alt-rock outfit HAVVK  release their bold new single ‘Bad Look’, on via VETA Records.

The single comes with the announcement of their highly anticipated, thunderous fourth album, Time Will Kill, releasing June 19th.

Championed by The Line of Best Fit, CLASH, The Guardian, DIY, RTÉ 2FM, BBC Radio Ulster and Radio X, HAVVK returned with renewed fire last year with ‘Happening Again’, which was followed by the blistering one-and-a-half minute punker, ‘On Time’, which earned RTÉ 2FM Track of the Week on The Alternative and extensive praise across BBC6, BBC Radio Ulster, Radio Nova, Hot Press and more.

‘Bad Look’ is another resonant thump in the chest, unpacking how we romanticise a simpler time in life, when memories of flashing parties, crushes and silly fights felt all-consuming, and responsibilities and consequences felt like distant background noise.

Vocalist Julie Havvk says, “We all inevitably paint these memories in potential and poignance, and I think there’s a beauty in trying to rekindle that sense of youth and opportunity, even briefly. The song is about, probably unrealistically, comparing your current life to those memories and asking what can you let go of in order to regain some of that sense of freedom again.”.

‘Bad Look’ sees HAVVK frame another introspective track with poise, featuring a barrage of downward strummed rhythm guitar that set up a chorus that was built to soar.

Whilst acclaimed third album, To Fall Asleep chased oblivion and centered around vocalist Julie’s battle with insomnia, its successor marks a decisive shift in perspective. Time Will Kill is self-described as “the reckoning” – an album that chronicles the fight to reclaim control.

Their most ambitious LP yet, HAVVK sharpen their intensity like a storm gathering strength. A reckoning is soon upon us….
