Alpine Skies – release glorious indie rock single ‘A Long Way’

Dublin alternative-rock duo Alpine Skies have released their polished new single ‘A Long Way’: The lead track from their forthcoming debut album, Inspired Conflicts.

Following praise from Simon Le Bon (Duran Duran) and Katy Krassner for their hypnotic debut release ‘By Your Side’, and continued acclaim for singles ‘Walls’ and ‘Blockks’, Alpine Skies step forward with ‘A Long Way’, the defining lead single before the arrival of their debut album, Inspired Conflicts, on April 16th.

The band will formally launch album Inspired Conflicts with an unmissable show upstairs in Whelan’s, Dublin, on April 30th, with special guests to be announced. Tickets are on sale now, available from whelanslive.com

A band born through serendipity and sustained by sound, Alpine Skies (Kevin Homan and Darren Farrell), discovered an instant creative chemistry that would soon unfold into what is their debut album, Inspired Conflicts.

‘A Long Way’, is the halfway point of the band’s debut album, and focuses on one’s ability to take hits and keep moving. It admires any person dealing with their own personal crisis – the type that exists internally to them, and that they do not expose or display, yet they fight through day to day. The band explains, “What really underpins the message is the return of self. The regaining of confidence and self worth from within.”

Self-produced and recorded with the expertise of Sean Hurley in Little Bear Studios, Dublin, with mastering engineer Gabe Wolf at his home studio in LA, upcoming debut album Inspired Conflicts, releasing April 16th, features contributions from Lee Tomkins (Aslan), Sheena StynesGavin Fox (Turn/Idlewild) and Paul ‘Binzer’ Brennan (The Frames/The Waterboys/Bellx1) on bass and drum recording duties.

In Dublin’s buzzing alternative scene, Alpine Skies emerge as a quietly powerful presence, exploring the profound, the everyday, the tangible and the ineffable – finding connection and meaning through inspired conflicts.

Alpine Skies will launch their debut album Inspired Conflicts on Thursday, April 30th in Whelan’s (upstairs), Dublin, with special guests TBA.
