The album is a 16 track double album, made of four Volumes;  Tropo(sphere),  Strato(sphere), Meso(sphere)and Thermo(sphere).  Each volume allowed the band to build and shape themselves into a new version, led by the charismatic frontman Josh Raven.

“The idea for Atmospherics came during one of the low parts of our career” say Joel Tyrrell.  “Everything we knew had been swept away, and we really didn’t know if we would continue on as a band so we had to dig deep together and talk about what we wanted. Some of our happiest moments have been with the band so we wanted to re-shape our future”

The concept of A T M O S P H E R I C S is about learning how to fly again, on their own terms refreshed and as an independent band.

“The idea of floating through the different layers of the atmosphere to see what we could all see, hear and create together painted such a nice picture for how things were flowing with the introduction of our new singer, Josh.  Volume wasn’t the goal, but the spark had been lit and the idea’s were flowing, so we just kept adding layers to the Atmosphere. We have removed the pressure we used to place on ourselves.  The songs didn’t have to fit a sound for an album, it can just exist as a moment in time, for that particular layer of the atmosphere.”

The band started writing songs with friends and mentors as a way to explore ways to make the project feel more like a collective. It was at this time they reconnected with Josh Raven, and although they had recorded tracks with metalcore legend Aaron Gillespie (Underoath, The Almost) on “Better Before“, then also The Getaway Plan for  “Paradise“, “Obey feat Kellin Quinn”.  It was Josh they formed a magical connection with and have no formed Hands Like Houses a-new.
