Fresh off the back of their European stint, Irish rock group of the moment Gurriers made their heavily anticipated Dublin appearance on Friday evening at The Button Factory. Following on from their standout performances supporting Inhaler and Turnstile earlier in the year, we only expected the energy to be through the roof, and it sure was.
Entering stage to Frankie Valli’s “Can’t Take My Eyes off You” was a special choice and pulled the entire crowd into a raucous singalong before “Erasure” addressed the room like a personal threat.
The floor opened up into a mosh at several points throughout the night. Once passive, maybe standaround fans became vanished to the black hole. When the Des Goblin bassline made itself known, they maybe should have known what they were in for… “No More Photos” and “Approachable” made for real highlights in the set – the place was bouncing all the way through.
Irish Alt-Rock talent Brooki opened the evening. They have everything in pocket to be one of the biggest names on the scene in the years to come.
