Irish pop icons Westlife were honoured at Dublin’s 3Arena on Friday in a special media event celebrating their remarkable legacy. The band, represented by Kian Egan, Shane Filan and Nicky Byrne, received an exclusive award recognising their record breaking run at the venue. As part of the ceremony, the trio had their hands cast, marking a milestone achievement in Irish music history.
Westlife are set to reach an unprecedented 82 performances at the 3Arena, more than any other artist to date. The occasion also builds anticipation for their upcoming “Westlife 25: The Anniversary World Tour,” celebrating 25 years since the band’s formation. Their September residency will see them return to the Dublin stage for a series of highly anticipated shows.
The media gathering took place at the 3Arena’s 1878 Club, where invited press captured the moment and spoke with the band. The atmosphere reflected both celebration and nostalgia, highlighting Westlife’s enduring connection with Irish audiences. As one of Ireland’s most successful musical acts, their continued popularity shows no sign of slowing down. The award stands as a fitting tribute to a band that has defined pop music for a generation.
