Glazyhaze have now released their second album ‘SONIC‘.
‘SONIC’ is divided into two parts: Side A offers light and bright melodies and atmospheres, while Side B delves into introspective and nocturnal tones, with a more intense emotional depth. The two parts, despite being so distinct, are closely linked and strive to depict not two opposing extremes, but rather two complementary facets of the same experience, much like the two sides of a coin.
The album cover portrays this duality with a picture of a lit match symbolizing the tension between light and shadow. A fleeting light in harmony with inescapable darkness: this is the visual representation that Glazyhaze have chosen to capture the intricate and profound essence of their record.
They also share the video for ‘SLAP‘, the album’s focus track, which explores the constant contrast between an apparent calm and the inner anxiety that could overwhelm us at any moment. Written and directed by Francesco Giacomin (Glazyhaze drummer) and Luana Buttignol, the video shows two characters, one set in a cold, blue environment connected to water, the other in a warm, red environment linked to fire, a visual representation of the two souls of the song and, more broadly, of the entire album. Cinematography and filming were handled by Cristiano Donadel, who also took care of colour grading and effects.
