Norwegian folk metal act Gåte played Dublin for the first time every and man did they bring the house down and that house being The Academy 2. I had been waiting for this show with high anticipation and thank the gods the band did not disappoint.
From the high energy performances of both guitarist and bassist to the haunting mystical voice of Gunnhild Sundli it was pagan folk at its best.
An added bonus to the night was the fact that John Stenersen the bands Nyckelharpa player was the opening act, playing a number of folk tunes that could have had you drifting away to the medieval fjords of Norway.
