Folk Singer Songwriter Rachel Goode – set to unleash infectious new single ‘Western Highway’ March 6th

Rachel Goode is an award-winning singer from Ballinasloe in Co Galway.

Technically accomplished, Rachel is a Classically trained Soprano and while still dipping her toe in classical music she also has a strong love for Folk music as she grew up immersed in singing and listening to the genre.

She has a bachelor’s of Music degree from DIT, a Master of Arts in Performance from Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and a Masters in Music Education from the University of Limerick.

Rachel has had a lot of TV success and in 2009 represented the West of Ireland on the first series of  The All Ireland Talent Show.

She was also a finalist in the 2022 Eurosong competition on The Late Late Show on RTE, and a finalist in the 2022 series of Glor Tire on TG4.

The Galway lady is no stranger to the stage and has performed in all the major venues throughout Ireland including The Bord Gais Energy TheatreThe National Opera House, and The Helix just to name a few.

Inspired by singers such as Maura O’Connell and Eva Cassidy, her style is Folk with a touch of blues and Americana as can be heard in her strong vocals.

Her most recent singles ‘Diamond Ring’ ‘Keg Of Brandy’ and ‘Blue Kentucky Blues’ received much high praise from the likes of Hot Press, RTE Entertainment, Sunday World, Pure Mzine, Lonely Oak Radio, Galway Bay FM, Corks Red FM, Shannonside FM, Loughrea FM, Galway Bay FM, Dublin City FM, RTE Radio Na Gaelta and many many more.

Now with her upcoming debut folk album on the horizon, Rachel hopes to keep building her mark on Ireland’s music scene.

Don’t miss her brand new single ‘Western Highway’ dropping this March.

WESTERN HIGHWAY

This is a song written by Irish Singer – Songwriter Gerry O’Beirne. It is a song written about Love and Travelling and a song Rachel felt she connected with
immediately. As O’Beirne has written, ‘It’s a love song, a travelling song’ and every migrant,
whether in Ireland, Britain or Uppland, can connect with the words, for it captures what they
are always looking for.
This is important to her as a vocalist as she has to really believe in the songs she sings. It
slots in well with the album and has that same folk sound but as the term ‘folk music’ is so
broad, each song has it’s own flair and this one has that country feel.
