Floor Jansen – embraces her metal roots on new solo single ‘Run’

Nightwish vocalist and solo artist FLOOR JANSEN returns with her new single, ‘Run‘, released via REVAMP Music / Warner Music. Following her solo debut LP “Paragon”, a sold-out theatre tour, and a strong streaming footprint of nearly 150 million streams across her solo catalogue, ‘Run‘ marks the beginning of a powerful new solo chapter.

The single reveals a heavier, darker side of Floor’s solo sound. Produced by Gordon Groothedde—with whom Floor previously worked on After Forever’s final album before her years with Nightwish—’Run‘ combines a compact song structure with down-tuned guitars, layered vocals, and Floor’s distinct vocal power. The track moves closer to the metal roots that shaped her early career, while retaining the melodic clarity and direct songwriting of her solo work.

Conceptually, ‘Run‘ focuses on themes of liberation, self-empowerment, and refusing to disappear into someone else’s expectations.

“To me, ‘Run’ is about no longer making yourself smaller to fit into a shape that was never yours,” says Floor“It’s about taking off the mask, trusting your own movement, and daring to be seen that way. Musically, it feels like the start of something heavier and more direct, but still honest, still melodic, still completely me.”

With ‘Run‘, FLOOR JANSEN opens an extensive creative phase leading into further new music and her return to the international live circuit.

With nearly 600,000 Instagram followers, more than 56,000 Bandsintown trackers, close to one million monthly Spotify listeners, and major festival performances over the past year — including the main stage of Wacken Open Air, Masters of Rock, M’era Luna, and SwedenRock — FLOOR JANSEN enters this next phase with clear international momentum. This recent track lays the foundation for a series of upcoming releases leading into the HYTRESS Tour 2027, which will bring her back to international club stages with a full band.
