Father of Peace – The Year Of Madness & The Mystery Century tour live gallery and review from The Academy Green Room, Dublin 19.10.2026

There was a little patience required before Father of Peace took to the stage at The Academy Green Room on Monday night, with doors opening at 7pm and no support act to fill the gap. By 8.30pm, the wait was beginning to show, with a few audience members looking increasingly weary. However, any lingering frustration was soon forgotten once the band finally arrived.

As promised, Father of Peace transported the room to another universe and dimension, delivering a performance that was equal parts eccentric, theatrical and utterly infectious. These guys are tremendous fun live, quirky as hell in all the best possible ways, and clearly determined to do things on their own terms.

A generous 16-song set showcased the band’s distinctive sound, blending bright, jangly guitars with theatrical rock flourishes, catchy, energetic indie-pop and generous helpings of heavy psychedelia. The result is a heady musical cocktail the band themselves have branded Suncore, a fitting name for a sound that feels both wonderfully offbeat and irresistibly uplifting.

There is a playful unpredictability to Father of Peace that makes them such an engaging live proposition. Their music manages to feel colourful and chaotic without losing its melodic appeal, drawing the audience into their peculiar world one song at a time.

While the lengthy wait tested the patience of those gathered, the performance itself made a convincing case for sticking around. Father of Peace may not be your conventional rock band, but conventional is clearly not the point.

By the end of the 16 song journey, the evening had found its groove. A slow start gave way to a gloriously weird, psychedelic celebration and one that left a lasting impression.
