Exciting Irish alt-emo-pop artist Micah – releases powerful new single “Friend But Foe”

Friend But Foe” is a cathartic, emotionally charged Emo / Alt-Pop track that explores the breakdown of toxic friendships and the slow realisation of manipulation disguised as care.

Rooted in a deeply personal experience, the song captures the internal conflict of recognising harmful behaviour while still processing the emotional weight it carries. It speaks to those moments when support is expected but instead replaced by control, self-centredness, and subtle emotional damage.

Rather than confrontation, the track channels that pain into release — becoming a space to say everything left unsaid. It’s raw, reflective, and ultimately empowering.

At its core, “Friend But Foe” is about reclaiming identity after emotional erosion, and finding clarity in situations that once felt confusing and consuming.

Driven by punchy guitars and layered with subtle electronic textures, “Friend But Foe” blends emo-rock intensity with modern alt-pop production. MICAH’s vocal moves between restrained vulnerability and explosive release, mirroring the emotional arc of the track.
