Papa Boyle, an emerging, retro inspired singer songwriter based in Dublin is releasing his new single “Wave To Me” this Friday, July 18th! Featuring upcoming artists Miranda Faul (a Sligo/Kildare raised singer songwriter who draws inspiration from Adele and Jorja Smith) and Still Searching (Sam Stevenson, a Dublin native now based in Belfast who draws from personal experience and observations of the digital age’s impact on humanity), the collaborative track was imagined and written in one day as the trio gathered at the Softgut in association with IMRO songwriting camp in Northern Ireland.
Reminiscent of ’50s and ’60s rock and roll with a touch of modern indie, the trio skillfully blend sounds of the likes of Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Father John Misty and Orville Peck to bring something fresh and familiar to the scene. “Wave To Me” feels nostalgic, for sure, which is exactly what they seem to have been going for. It’s easy to listen to and extremely catchy, giving each of the artists a chance to shine.
They’ll be celebrating the release of the single with shows in Sunflower, Belfast (July 23rd) and Whelans, Dublin (July 24th), with each artist taking to the stage with their own band for a set before they plan to come together for a live performance of “Wave To Me”.
