Elaine Mai and Soda Blonde – have joined forces in ‘People Pleaser’ Remix

As one of Ireland’s most exciting electronic artists, Choice Music Prize-nominated Elaine Mai returns with ‘People Pleaser (Elaine Mai Remix)’ – a bold reimagining of the fan-favourite track from indie trailblazers Soda Blonde. Arriving ahead of Mai’s hotly anticipated sophomore album For Us, out September 26th, the remix offers a striking glimpse into her evolving sonic world.

Mai will play a headline show in the Button Factory on 25th October, with tickets on sale now from Eventbrite, HERE.

Mai has captivated audiences with her dynamic blend of electronic artistry and production since 2012, garnering over 5.6 million streams on Spotify. Her career is punctuated by notable collaborations and remixes, having worked as a producer with artists such as Pillow Queens, Daithí, Loah, and MuRli. Her remix of Loah’s Nothing reached number one in the Irish Radio Airplay Charts for independent songs and amassed over 1.1m streams on Spotify, highlighting her prowess in reimagining and elevating existing tracks.

The collaboration between Mai and Soda Blonde’s Faye O’Rourke was sparked during a special live studio session on RTÉ 2FM, where the pair performed ‘Aim’, the latest single from For Us. Since its release, ‘Aim’ has made waves across Irish radio, reaching No. 6 on the Irish Radio Breakers Chart and racking up over two million impressions.

Originally featured on Soda Blonde’s People Pleaser EP—which debuted at No. 2 on the Irish Independent Album Charts—the original version of ‘People Pleaser’ has fast become a fan favourite. In July, the band celebrated the EP’s arrival on crimson red vinyl with a sold-out show at Dublin’s Button Factory. Hot Press praised the night as “glistening and infinitely memorable”, applauding the band’s “inimitable charisma and hypnotising performances.”

This remix arrives amid a wave of momentum for both artists. Elaine Mai will headline the Button Factory on October 25th, with tickets available now via Eventbrite. Meanwhile, Soda Blonde continues to rise, with their music recently shared by legendary game designer Hideo Kojima to over 4 million Instagram followers. Previous support from BBC Radio 6 Music, RTÉ 2FM, and Today FM, alongside editorial playlisting across New Music Friday UK & IE, Fresh Finds, and Alternative Ireland, reflects their growing international reach.

FOR US

For Us is Elaine Mai’s forthcoming album, due for release on September 26th. Her debut album, Home, was met with widespread acclaim, earning nominations for a Choice Music Prize for both album and song of the year. Lead single, ‘No Forever (feat. MayKay)’, made a remarkable impact across Irish radio with 14 million impressions, peaking at No.2 in the Irish Radio Breakers chart and No.6 in the Viral 50 Ireland Spotify chart.

On the highly anticipated sophomore album, Mai says, “The album is built around a single melody—one that guided me throughout the creative process. Writing this music, I wanted to let go of expectations and focus on the journey rather than the outcome. I wrote the majority of the album in Daithí’s Aspen Lane Studio in Ballyvaughan. Daithí and I worked closely on the production and mixing, shaping the sound in a way that felt organic and true to the emotion behind the music”

Mai’s live performances have taken her across Ireland and internationally, featuring in major festivals like Longitude, Body&Soul, and Electric Picnic, with her shows being praised for their ambient, controlled house vibes. For Us is poised to be a testament to her growing influence and appeal.
