Kingfishr, have quickly established themselves as one of the rising prospects in Irish music. Part of the newest generation of Irish contemporaries, the band’s grand, atmospheric tone married with their propensity for catchy melodies has resonated with a wide audience. Aptly named for the bird which frequents the river Boro in Eddie, the lead singer’s, native county of Wexford, the 3-piece pride themselves on their musical independence, producing, writing and recording and all of their own music at their home studio, which happens to be located on a dairy farm in Limerick, Ireland.
In 3 short years, they have racked up over 70+ million streams to date, have 800k+ monthly listeners on Spotify, were included in Spotify’s Fresh Finds UK & IE: Class of 2023 and have been Spotify RADAR: First Listen UK & IE Artists.
Their live album, Kingfishr Live From Dublin, reached #5 on the Irish Charts, as well as #7 on the UK Folk Albums Chart.
They have sold 50,000 tickets across the UK and Ireland, including 2 sold out headline tours, that included an open-air headline show at Fairview Park this summer, 2 dates at Dublin’s 3Olympia Theatre and 1 at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire, in addition to a host of supports with major artists, such as Dermot Kennedy, Tom Walker, George Ezra, James Bay, Snow Patrol and Bruce Springsteen. Festival plays include Latitude, Electric Picnic, All Points East (2023), TRSNMT, Isle of Wight, Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds (2024), with more to come in 2025 including the recently announced Mad Cool (Madrid), Frequency (Austria) and a return to Latitude.
