Dublin shoegaze/psych-rock juggernauts Sun Mahshene – all set to release the powerful hazy single ‘Life Is Joy’

Following their superb slot supporting The Underground Youth and an electrifying set at Vantastival, Dublin shoegaze/psych juggernauts Sun Mahshene return with their most ambitious single yet.

Receiving extensive praise across Irish and international media (Hot Press, The Irish Times, BBC Radio and more), Sun Mahshene continue to carve a reputation for their visceral live shows and uncompromising sound, merging introspection with sonic grandeur.

Debut album “A Place We’ve Never Been”, launched the band to national prominence in August 2024, subsequently earning the five-piece an exclusive slot supporting American shoegaze kings The Brian Jonestown Massacre in February, in Dublin’s 3Oylmpia theatre and Belfast’s Ulster Hall.

Upcoming single “Life Is Joy”, due for release on October 31st, sees the band fully in their own skin, comfortable pushing their boundaries with a slightly heavier sound, while staying true to the raw emotional heart of rock’n’roll that drives their evolving discography.

Mixed and mastered by acclaimed producer James Aparicio (Spiritualized, Depeche Mode, Mogwai), the single is a towering wall of sound and a bold statement of intent, where the band’s sound sits at the intersection of shoegaze, psych, and grand atmospheric rock, balancing scale, mood, and emotional defiant weight.

Expansive, cinematic, and emotionally charged, the single warmly captures the intensity of their live sound while pushing into something powerful and transportive, in true Sun Mahshene fashion. With its swirling guitars, driving rhythms, and soaring vocals, it channels the spirit of shoegaze pioneers while pushing into contemporary territory.

For fans of The Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Jesus and Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine, and Spiritualized, Sun Mahshene carve music built for immersion. “Life Is Joy” leaves the band poised for a strong final chapter to a significant year.

The single will be launched with an unmissable headline show in Sin É, Dublin,  on November 1st, with support from The Ravs. Tickets HERE.
