London band “Dry Cleaning” made a triumphant return to Dublin last night as they kicked off their tour in style at a very packed out Whelans, so packed was the intimate venue that there was barely moving room, which was to be expected for a band of such calibre who chose to play two nights at the iconic venue celebrating the release of their ten track debut album “New Long Leg” which includes previous EP tracks “Strong Feelings” and “Scratchcard Lanyard”
The intimate setting of Whelan’s main venue was the setting as fans at the sold-out venue were treated to an epic 18 track performance in their unique spoken word hypnotic style of play .
They have a busy summer ahead supporting none other than Nick Cave on his mainland European Tour and its easy to hear why for these guys are good , sorry , great !
Support on the night was by Galway girl Maria Somervile , an irish avant pop artist who played a mesmerising ambient experimental spoken word mixed with field recordings .
