David Geraghty (Bell X1) – releases psychedelic indie pop single ‘Normal Two Point Zero’ ahead of album, you can read our review here

David Geraghty’s latest single, “Normal Two Point Zero”, is a shimmering, psychedelic detour into synth pop that feels both expansive and deeply human. Best known as a founding member of Bell X1, Geraghty has long demonstrated a talent for emotional nuance, but here he channels it through kaleidoscopic textures, pulsing electronics, and a warm melodic glow that recalls the adventurous spirit of David Bowie, the dreamlike psych pop of Tame Impala, and the soulful introspection of Steven Bamidele.

Taken from his forthcoming solo album ”Komorebi”, the track balances euphoria with emotional fracture. Beneath its swirling synths and hypnotic groove lies a meditation on community, belonging, and the fragile ties that bind us together. Geraghty celebrates the joy of finding “your people” the comfort and identity that comes from shared connection, while also confronting the loneliness and fallout that arrives when those bonds begin to unravel.

“Normal Two Point Zero” is richly layered without ever feeling overcrowded. Analog synth flourishes drift in and out of the mix, while the rhythm section drives the track forward with a subtle, motorik pulse. Geraghty’s vocal performance is understated but affecting, delivering vulnerability with a quiet confidence that suits the song’s reflective mood.

It’s a track that reveals more with each listen, cinematic, thoughtful, and emotionally resonant. “Normal Two Point Zero” signals an exciting new chapter for Geraghty, one that embraces experimentation while remaining rooted in honest songwriting.

“Normal Two Point Zero” comes in with a 7 out of 10

Rating: 7 out of 10.
