Dani Larkin returned to the Spirit Store in Dundalk as part of her Full Circle Irish tour last night (02 Feb).
The Belfast based singer/songwriter took to the stage for an intimate gig, combining her own brand of folk music with some anecdotes and genuinely funny conversation in-between songs.
It was one of those gigs where you could hear a pin drop (as referenced by Larkin herself ‘you don’t have to be quiet just because it’s a Sunday’), but this was more to do with the respect the crowd had for the music, and how it commands your full attention.
The songs are written and performed by Larkin and her guitar, but in no way seem the worse off for this. Her stripped back performance matched with her voice made it a gig that will stay with you, and if her tour crosses your path I would highly recommend you go see her.
