Following the release of Ferry2Aran, Irish artist Daithí returns – this time alongside long-term collaborator Sinéad White – with the release of Can’t Even Tell Me, the second single from his upcoming album.
Marking over ten years of creative partnership between Daithí and Sinéad, Can’t Even Tell Me is both a celebration of a decade-long creative bond, and a reflection on transformation and reconnection with yourself after a difficult period. The upbeat, vibrant track also features Ailbhe Reddy on guitar and backing vocals.
Speaking on the new track, Daithí says “Sinéad and I have been making music together for over ten years, and this track really feels like a celebration of everything we’ve shared. We wrote it a few years ago and ended up keeping it just for ourselves for a long time. It’s about finding your way back to yourself after a hard period — that moment when things start to shift, even slightly. Having the legendary Ailbhe Reddy join us on guitar and backing vocals made it even more special. I feel very lucky to work with women who bring so much heart and talent to everything they do.”
Written and recorded in The Beekeepers, nestled in the Burren, the track is filled with the easy chemistry between three friends and artists working in sync.
Sinéad White adds “Working with Daithí is always a blast. I have so much admiration for the way he approaches music. He’s the kind of person who says ‘yes, and…’ to every idea, with great enthusiasm, and it’s no surprise how many people want to work with him. He has a real gift for bringing out the best in those around him. He is a true collaborator.
This song was written in The Beekeepers, right in the heart of the Burren, which is a special place all in itself. We wrote and recorded it with our good friend Ailbhe Reddy, who added so much to the song with her backing vocals, guitar playing and good vibes.
I hope you can hear the warmth and fun we felt while making it – and have a little bop at the same time.”
