Corella have released their brand new single ‘Bitter End’, the latest song to be taken from their forthcoming second album A Beautiful World To Lose out September 18th via FLG.
‘Bitter End’ is a scorching indie rock track which is quick to take no prisoners, tearing out the blocks in a frenzy of distortion and pounding drums, while frontman Joel Smith plays rock ‘n’ roll ringmaster with his lyrical snarl taking aim at the circus of life and the rat race for success.
Regarding the single Joel says, “‘Bitter End’ captures that restless drive to chase something bigger, exploring the highs, chaos, and obsession that come with wanting more out of life. It plays with the idea of the modern dream; success, excess, and the determination to keep pushing no matter the cost.”
Corella debuted the new single live to a rabid reaction from fans on their whistlestop headline tour across the North of England last week. Performing packed to the rafters shows at six sweaty intimate venues, they unleashed a number of tracks from A Beautiful World To Lose live for the first time to chaotic scenes as displayed in the video for ‘Bitter End’. Watch it here.
Produced by Grammy-winning Jason Perry (The Molotovs, McFly, Don Broco), A Beautiful World To Lose finds the rapidly rising Manchester band performing with a new ferocity and sense of purpose. They have taken their formative indie influences and honed them into something new and razor-sharp.
From searing riffs and snarled lyrics in ‘Rewire’, to bold vulnerability in ‘Lost A Friend’, alongside huge uplifting anthems such as found in ‘Simple Life’, A Beautiful World To Lose buzzes with energy, while taking their songwriting and musicianship to grand new heights. The themes cover loss, heartbreak and disillusionment, tracking a generation’s frustration and apathy over the things that are out of their control.
With a wealth of support for the band coming across Radio 1, Radio X and BBC Introducing, while also clocking up over 70 million streams since the release of the debut album. Corella have ignited a following which has led to numerous capacity headline tours across the UK and Europe, main stage performances at festivals including Reading & Leeds, while also touring with the likes of Kaiser Chiefs, Pale Waves, Circa Waves and The Wombats.
