CMAT returned to Dublin in spectacular fashion on Friday night, transforming Dublin’s 3Arena into a celebration of humour, heartbreak, and unabashed country-pop drama. The show, part of her much anticipated It’s The Euro-Country Tour!, proved once again that CMAT isn’t just a brilliant songwriter, she’s a full-scale entertainer, a born showwoman with enough charisma to light up an arena twice the size.
Before CMAT even appeared, the night kicked off with a warm and heartfelt set from American country singer Fancy Hagood. His soulful vocals and charismatic storytelling won over the early crowd immediately. Hagood’s mix of confessional ballads and upbeat southern pop set the perfect emotional tone for the night, and by the time he left the stage, the audience was already buzzing.
But nothing could prepare the crowd for CMAT’s grand entrance. Instead of emerging from backstage, she appeared high in the balcony. The reaction was electric, shrieks, laughter, total disbelief from fans suddenly finding themselves mere steps away from the star. It was a joyful, mischievous opening move that felt wonderfully CMAT, personal, theatrical, and delightfully unpredictable. After greeting the stunned onlookers, she made a quick dash down to the main stage, launching straight into a high-energy run of fan favourites including “The Jamie Oliver Petrol Station,” “California,” and the gloriously chaotic “Take a Sexy Picture of Me.”
The setlist was a sixteen-song journey through CMAT’s catalogue, punctuated by costume sparkle, razor-sharp one-liners, and powerhouse vocals. But the night held more surprises. Midway through the show, CMAT welcomed Fancy Hagood back onstage for a gorgeous duet of “When a Good Man Cries.” Their voices blended seamlessly, creating one of the evening’s most emotionally charged moments. Later, she stunned the crowd again by bringing out Colm Conlan for a special performance of “Where Are Your Kids Tonight?”.
After leaving the stage to roaring applause, CMAT returned for an encore that began with the riotously theatrical “Billy Byrne From Ballybrack, the Leader of the Pigeon Convoy,” a song only CMAT could deliver with both sincerity and pure camp delight. She followed it with “EURO-COUNTRY,” the tour’s namesake anthem, which turned the arena into a full-on dance party. Finally, she closed the night with the soaring, emotional “Stay for Something,” sending the audience home buzzing, breathless, and already wishing for the next tour.
With her blend of vulnerability, humour, and towering stage presence, CMAT proved she’s more than ready for arenas, she commands them. Dublin got a homecoming show to remember.
