Baba – has shared her hopeful 90s inspired new single ‘Love Like This’

Hailed for having “one of the best voices in Ireland bar none” (The GOO), soulful pop artist Baba shares her hopeful, ‘90s-inspired new single ‘Love Like This’ on Thursday, 30th January 2025 via Welcome to the New World.

She’s also releasing the song’s heartwarming music video, featuring Baba and her daughter, Minnie, and directed by her husband and frequent collaborator Dara McDonagh.

The nostalgic, bright pop song was written for Baba’s daughter, but the track resonates with all forms of love: familial, romantic and platonic.

She explains: “I wrote it for my little girl, Minnie, who arrived this year and completely transformed my  life. Her arrival was the culmination of eight years of heartbreaking fertility struggles and recurrent miscarriages, making her presence all the more miraculous. The song captures the feeling of an indescribable and overwhelming love. Though the lyrics are simple, the emotion behind them is profound: a heartfelt ode to my baby.”

‘Love Like This’ follows Baba’s triumphant, sold-out show in Little Whelans on 19th December. Baba wrote the single in her kitchen with her producer and collaborator Enda Gallery, who also worked with her on previous singles ‘Truth’, ‘Apollo’, and her latest release, ‘Sad Party’.
