Ann Demeulemeester announce collaboration with October (October And The Eyes)

Ann Demeulemeester announces the launch of its SS25 Pre-collection, the first since Stefano Gallici was nominated Creative Director of the house. Serving as the cornerstone of the brand’s quintessential wardrobe, this curated collection aims to capture the timeless elegance and versatile sophistication that distinguishes the brand. At the heart of the “Wardrobe Collection” lies a fusion of artistry and functionality, embodying the brand’s ethos and building upon Gallici’s vision of creating a uniform for the makers of today. Designed to integrate with the brand’s runway offerings seamlessly, each piece contributes to an inherently wearable proposition.

Central to the wardrobe’s creation is the commitment to community building of Creative Director Stefano Gallici, whose unwavering dedication to fostering artistic expression is palpable in every stitch. In a testament to his collaborative spirit, Gallici has enlisted the looks and artistry of London-based musician October (October And The Eyes), in a partnership that adds a unique dimension to the collection. Born out of intimate conversations and shared creative visions, the designs see October infusing her distinct artistic sensibilities into the garments through captivating graphics containing references to her aesthetic, music, and lyrics.

The launch of the SS25 Pre-collection marks a significant milestone in Ann Demeulemeester’s history, widening its range of products and appealing to a variety of new consumers. As the brand continues to push boundaries and challenge conventions, it remains dedicated to empowering individuals to embrace their unique sense of style and identity.

The SS25 Pre-collection sales campaign can be attended by appointment only at the historic Ann Demeulemeester showroom in 4 Rue de Saintonge, 75003 Paris until Friday, the 24th of May.

The collection will be available in stores from November 2024.

About October

October And The Eyes is the one-woman-band musical pursuit of New Zealand-born, London-based musician October. Pulling inspiration from a disparate array of influences such as folk, post-punk, bossa nova, psych, flamenco, and grunge, October’s work is a collage of ideas. Shaped by the likes of Bauhaus, Bowie, Siouxsie Sioux, and Suicide, she has secured support from ClashDIYDazed, i-D, and Notion. October and The Eyes are getting harder to ignore. As the London underground’s worst-kept secret, October and The Eyes have sold out every headline show of theirs to date, appearing at iconic London venues such as The Lexington, The Victoria, Old Blue Last, and The 100 Club. It’s no wonder then why she’s been hand-picked by Yves Tumor, The Horrors, Iceage, and The Black Lips as UK tour support, commanding venues of up to 3000 people (The Troxy, Heaven, Islington Assembly) with confidence and ease. With one foot in the music scene, her other is firmly planted on catwalks and fashion industry photoshoots, serving as muse and appearing front row and behind DJ decks at fashion week’s exclusive Ann Demeulemeester show celebrations. She’s also one of the faces for their latest campaign – a fitting gig considering the brand’s historic association with powerful female musicians such as PJ Harvey and Patti Smith.

About Stefano GalliciBorn in 1996 in Teor, in the district of Udine, Stefano Gallici grew up between this little burg and Venice. Crossing the threshold of punk rock, indie, and garage he discovered fashion, attracted by the continuity between musical and aesthetic expression, making it the foundation of his own creative quest. He learned the rudiments of sewing from a seamstress, precisely to be able to dress according to the fantasies he had. In 2016 he enrolled in the Fashion Design course at IUAV University in Venice, a school which, shaped by the vision of Maria Luisa Frisa and Mario Lupano, addresses fashion in its technical and cultural aspects. In these early years, he sharpened his knowledge of sewing and pattern-making through various apprenticeships. In 2017 he collaborated with Haider Ackermann for nine months, swinging between Paris and Antwerp, before returning to Venice and graduating in 2018. At the beginning of the following year, he moved to Milan and began working for Antonioli Group. Since 2020, the year of the brand’s acquisition, he has been part of the Ann Demeulemeester team. In 2023 he was appointed creative director. His vision of the brand is nourished by a mixture of musical leanings and respect for Ann’s work, synthesized in a vibrant and individual signature.
