After Taste – release their brand new track ‘Sustain Me’

Prepare to descend into the depths of despair with After Taste’s new track and video ‘Sustain Me’, an anthem that lingers in the shadows of gothic, industrial and doom metal.

Vocalist/guitarist Dave Meester comments on the track: “This track represents a raw and heavy portrayal of a very formative event in my youth. Someone very close to me attempted to end her life. ‘Sustain Me’ is about the impact that this had on me as a young teen. The video captures this in a visually striking way. We can drag ourselves through any scenario, no matter how rough it gets…

Known for weaving melancholic doom metal with an electronic pulse, this release is a chilling exploration of love, loss, and the fragility of the human mind. With echoes of Paradise Lost, the bleak humor of Type O Negative, and the crushing weight of TriptykonAfter Taste masterfully captures the emptiness beneath the surface.

After Taste: Gothic Doom with an Electronic Twist

Life is boring. Drastic changes must be made.” This mantra embodies the essence of After Taste, a band that skilfully intertwines the realms of industrial, gothic, and doom metal with the pulsating energy of EDM, synthwave, and ambient music. With atmosphere as their guiding principle, After Taste crafts a soundscape that, despite its melancholic and wistful aura, ultimately invites listeners to dance—creating an uneasy yet captivating contrast.

Who says love is sacred? Anyone can fake it.” With this provocative line, After Taste delves into the profound themes of mental health, family, soulmates, and the duality of life and death, all delivered through the haunting vocals of founding member Dave Meester. The band’s music offers a raw and unfiltered perspective on the complexities of human experience.
