Rising star Sans Soucis (they/them) shares new single ‘If I Let A White Man Cut My Hair’. They also confirm the release date of their debut album ‘Circumnavigating Georgia’, due October 9th. Later this year, Sans Soucis will also debut this project live as part of a headline run of UK & EU dates.
The lilting easy summer breeze of “If I Let A White Man Cut My Hair” is an ode to the
nurturing nature of Black communities and the small acts of resistance against oppression and marginalisation. In recalling the experience of growing out and then cutting their hair, Giulia
engages in a radical act of ownership. “I think when you build your personality around
everything that society wants you to be, then you also agree to a lot of norms that don’t
belong to you,” they explain. “But to really own my narrative, I needed to move on because I didn’t want the society I live in to tell my story for me”. Full dates below.

Circumnavigating Georgia will see the writer and producer Sans Soucis take us through their coming of age and the reclamation of their identity, tearing apart systemic patriarchy and anti-blackness that’s impacted their life. Each track on the album is set to introduce the audience to a new sonic palette, influenced by both the music and personal experiences from Sans Soucis’ teenage and early adulthood.
