Against the Current – enters the next chapter of their story with the release ‘Till Death & Back’ Listen to focus track ‘Ashe To Glory’

Acclaimed rock trio Against the Current enters the next chapter of their story with the release of their long-awaited third studio album, Till Death & Back. Anchored by the focus track “Ashes to Glory,” the album brings together the band’s evolving alternative sound and deeply personal narratives about fate, transformation, and the forces that shaped who the band has become.

Executive produced by Against The Current’s own Will Ferri, Till Death & Back unites the band together with producers Erik Ron (Panic! at the Disco, Godsmack), Josh Gilbert (Spiritbox), Morwell, and Josh Saldata for their most cohesive and uncompromising record yet. Across the album, the band explores the tension between love and loss, vulnerability and defiance, and the versions of ourselves we must leave behind to move forward.

At the heart of the record, “Ashes to Glory” serves as a powerful statement of the album’s overarching themes. Reflecting the record’s larger exploration of survival and transformation, the focus track captures the tension between destruction and rebirth and confronting what it takes to emerge from the fire. It stands as a defining moment within an album that embraces both the cost of becoming and the strength required to keep going.

The album follows the previously released singles “Heavenly”, “Always You & I”, “Dead Man Walking”, “Protégé,”and “White Noise” each offering a different perspective on Till Death & Back’s narrative. “Heavenly” explores the intoxicating pull of love that feels almost otherworldly. “Always You & I” explores a love that transcends time and circumstance, while “Dead Man Walking” confronts survival and the feeling of becoming unfamiliar to yourself. “Protégé” turns toward the complicated relationships, influences, and power dynamics that can shape a person’s identity. While “White Noise” adds another dimension to the album’s emotional landscape, exploring inner turmoil and the struggle to find clarity amid the chaos. Together, the songs establish an emotional landscape that moves between devotion, confrontation, and the possibility of transformation.

“Fate is the thread running through every song on this album, the belief that what’s meant for you is bound to you across time,” says frontwoman Chrissy Costanza. “The cost is the fire, the fight, the version of yourself you don’t get back. Till Death & Back is the promise that no matter how far you go, the thread never breaks, not even in death.”

Since emerging onto the alternative scene, Against the Current have built their career around refusing to stand still. From their early pop-punk roots to their increasingly expansive alternative sound, the band have continually evolved while maintaining the emotional connection that has resonated with fans around the world. Till Death & Back represents another step in that evolution, pushing the trio further into a sound and vision entirely their own.

Rather than revisiting the foundation of previous eras, Chrissy Costanza, Dan Gow, and Will Ferri lean into contrast, pairing massive, cinematic moments with intimate songwriting and unfiltered emotion. The result is a record that feels deeply personal while leaving space for listeners to discover their own stories within it.
