The Coronas have announced their return to Dublin’s 3Olympia Theatre for two special Christmas shows on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 December 2026, following huge demand for their recently announced intimate Irish tour.
The new Dublin dates come after tickets for the band’s special run of intimate seated shows were snapped up almost immediately. The first five dates sold out during the exclusive fan pre-sale, prompting the immediate addition of second nights in Waterford, Kilkenny, Derry and Athlone, with all shows selling out within 48 hours.
Christmas at the 3Olympia has become a firm tradition for The Coronas and their fans. Last December, the band sold out six nights at the iconic Dublin venue, with the annual shows renowned for their festive atmosphere, huge sing-alongs and unforgettable live energy.
Speaking about returning to the 3Olympia, Danny O’Reilly said: “Myself, Knoxy and Conor feel genuinely blessed to be able to plan these special Coronas shows every Christmas in the 3Olympia Theatre. There’s always so much love and magic in the air at these gigs – it’s a pleasure and a privilege to be part of people’s tradition and Christmas schedule. We’re buzzing to put on the best show we can for everyone. See you then.”
The intimate autumn shows will see The Coronas mixing new material with old favourites, rarely performed tracks and the hits that have soundtracked more than two decades of Irish music. While the trio are accustomed to playing to thousands, the tour was planned as a chance to get up close with fans in some of Ireland’s most beautiful theatres before returning to the 3Olympia for their much-loved Christmas shows.
With four consecutive No. 1 albums and sold-out tours across Ireland, the UK, Europe, North America and Australia, The Coronas have established themselves as one of Ireland’s most successful and enduring bands.
Their eighth studio album, Thoughts & Observations, was released in September 2024, a powerful, melodic record taking an incisive look at life, relationships and art. Although technically a three-piece; Danny O’Reilly on vocals, piano and guitar, Graham Knox on bass and Conor Egan on drums the band embraced the talents of their touring supergroup on the album, with Lar Kaye (All Tvvins) on guitar, Cian MacSweeney (True Tides) on saxophone and Róisín O on backing vocals.
The band are now looking ahead to their next album and another busy year of touring, but first comes their autumn intimate tour and a return to the venue that has become synonymous with Christmas for The Coronas.
