Forty years since the release of Iron Maiden’s multi-million selling sixth album, Somewhere in Time, the appreciation and acclaim for its groundbreaking songs and production continues to grow. Featuring many songs which Iron Maiden have included in their live set in recent years, including ‘Wasted Years’, ‘Caught Somewhere In Time’, ‘Stranger In A Strange Land’, ‘Heaven Can Wait’ and the epic ‘Alexander The Great’, it saw the band reach new heights around the world, setting them up to soon become the biggest metal band on the planet.
To celebrate its fortieth anniversary, Somewhere In Time will be reissued on limited edition Oxblood colour vinyl, featuring the 2015 audio remastering. There will be a special Amazon variant that comes with an exclusive full sleeve poster.
In further celebrations that tie into Iron Maiden’s 50th anniversary since their formation, and reflecting the songs the band have been performing on their two-year Run For Your Lives Tour, a brand new vinyl box-set of their first nine studio albums will be released in December. Entitled the 50th Anniversary Studio Album Collection, Part One: 1980 – 1992 it comes in a fully designed artwork box, with an anniversary poster and will be available to order exclusively through Amazon (ex-USA).
