Original Koffee – shares new single ‘SUMMER FRUITS (NA NA)’

Jamaican sensation Original Koffee has released new single ‘SUMMER FRUITS (NA NA)’, via Promised Land Records.

A bouncing groove laced with warm brass, live drums, and playful production, ‘SUMMER FRUITS (NA NA)’ is a laid-back anthem tailor-made for the summer season. Koffee’s signature melodic style flows over reggae rhythms, capturing an effortless island energy that lands just in time for Carnival. The new track premiered on BBC Radio 1 last night (Tuesday 4th August) as Jack Saunders’ Hottest Record, also premiering with Target on BBC 1Xtra.

The latest offering from Original Koffee follows the previously released ‘RAPID FYAH, which saw her make an anticipated return. Recruiting Skillibeng, the track is built around momentum and the vocal interplay of two artists at the very top of their game, “fusing both artists’ unmistakable vocals and energy… a confident, assured single that brings their dancehall and reggae sensibilities together” (Mixmag). Watch the official music video featuring both artists, HERE. Since its release not more than 6 weeks ago, ‘RAPID FYAH’ has gained over 1 million global streams on Spotify alone, with Koffee’s TikTok following tripling.

Original Koffee, the self-described “sing-jay-guitarist”, took the music world by storm and became one of the biggest stars in her country off the heels of her single, ‘Toast’, which became a global hit. Shortly thereafter, at the age of 19, she dropped her debut EP, Rapture, a release that earned her a GRAMMY win for Best Reggae Album, making her the youngest solo artiste and first female artiste to win the award in history. She then returned in 2022 with her debut LP, Gifted, which also earned a Best Reggae Album GRAMMY nomination, garnered critical acclaim, and solidified her ability to mix roots reggae with dancehall in ways no other artist had achieved.

RAPID FYAH’ and ‘SUMMER FRUITS (NA NA)’ mark Koffee’s first releases since last year’s self-titled single KOFFEE – the laid-back riddim produced by GuiltyBeatz (Tems, Beyoncé). The new track is the latest musical statement from an artist that has reshaped, modernized and revitalized reggae, combining it with R&B, dancehall and hip hop while bringing it to a whole new global audience.
