Blending smoky trip-hop textures, the song feels like it exists somewhere between the shadowy pulse of Massive Attack, the cool detachment of Baxter Dury. There are also echoes of Pink Floyd and Underworld in its hypnotic, almost cinematic soundscape.
“Change” reflects on the daily grind of working to survive while trying to contribute to a society that often feels disconnected. It explores how people become trapped in cycles of competition rather than compassion, too caught up in routine to notice each other’s struggles. The production mirrors this perfectly, with relentless rhythms and layered sounds creating a sense of constant motion and pressure. As the closing refrain repeats, “change for change for change…,” it lands like both a warning and a plea, highlighting how difficult it is to break destructive habits, even when everyone knows something needs to shift.
