April 21st, 2026 well at least it was when i headed out to this gig, but it wasnt long before it felt like i had been transported to a post-apocalyptic future, Cleere’s Bar & Theatre in Kilkenny played host to a night that felt less like a typical gig and more like stepping into another world. Headlined by Cam Cole, often described as one of the most impressive one-man bands you’ll ever see, the evening delivered raw energy, grit, and a fully immersive atmosphere from start to finish.
Opening the night was Arthur Buezo, a fellow one-man band performer bringing his self-styled “savage folk” sound to the stage. From the outset, Buezo set the tone with a performance that was both primal and captivating. His fusion of folk, blues, and stripped-back rock carried a rough-edged intensity that immediately drew the crowd in. There was nothing polished about it and that was exactly the point. It felt authentic, urgent, and alive.
By the time Cam Cole took to the stage, the room was already buzzing. What followed was a high-energy, electrifying set that never let up. Blending folk, Delta blues, grunge, and rock ’n’ roll, Cole created a wall of sound that seemed impossible for a single performer. His relentless foot-stomping rhythms, gritty vocals, and commanding presence transformed the intimate venue into something much larger.
The atmosphere of the night was unforgettable. Imagine walking into a chaotic, dust-filled bar straight out of a post-apocalyptic world, somewhere between a lawless desert outpost and a dimly lit dive filled with noise and sweat.
