Jaws The Shark – has today released his brand new single ‘Got It Made’ / Featuring Deaf Havana’s lead vocalist James Veck-Gilodi

Multi-instrumentalist Jaws The Shark (real name Olly Bailey)has today released his brand new scuzzy single, Got It Made. Teaming up with Deaf Havana’s lead vocalist James Veck-Gilodi, the track hears the pair’s vocals perfectly complementing each other’s, culminating in a compelling chorus.

Olly explains how Got It Made came to be, “I remember writing the main intro riff for it by just subconsciously playing around with an acoustic one day sat on my sofa, something caught my ear and I thought hmm, that reminds me of Smashing Pumpkins. I just went and tried to make it as heavy as I could, which was quite liberating to be honest. Rather than shy away from the comparison I just thought I’d lean it to it and see where it went. I was around at James’s place one night and showed him the track, and asked if he fancied having a go at one of the verses, and the rest is history!”

Alongside the release of Got It Made, arrives the announcement of Jaws The Shark’s UK/EU headline tour. Kicking things off at Kazimer Stockroom in Liverpool on 13th September, the tour will then span cities including Manchester, Leeds, St. Albans, Paris, Chalon-Sur-Saône, London, where the Devon-born artist will headline The Grace on 25th September, and then Portsmouth before wrapping things up in Southampton, at Heartbreakers on 27th September. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10am, and will be available here.

19th July will see the release of Olly’s long-awaited debut album, Wasteland. The 11-track body of work was written entirely by Olly himself, and produced by previous collaborator, George Perks, at VADA Recording Studios. Performed by Olly, he is also joined by bassist Brendan O’Boyle, and Dinosaur Pile-Up’s Michael Sheils on drums. Pre-save Wasteland here.

Olly clarifies, Wasteland is an album that I’d been wanting to write for some time now, and one that I’m really proud of personally. Some of the tracks that I write wouldn’t necessarily be put into the Jaws The Shark category when you look back at what I’ve released previously, but I wanted this album to show off some of my versatility that I like to explore when writing songs.”

The indie/alt-rock artist recently released California, the first single to be taken from Wasteland. The fast-paced and swaggering track builds to a blistering chorus, which showcases Olly’s signature raw yet soaring vocals. He has also revealed the official music video, shot by Jamie Korn of Grow Up Sad. The visuals see Olly performing in front of various Californian scenes, and is later joined by a second guitarist, April, who is dressed identically to him. Listen here, and watch video here.
